Have a Happy Easter

It is hard to imagine having to rebuild your home after and act of nature for example, so it is important to protect it as best you can; by using some forward thinking and preparation, many events no matter how bad, can be dealt with. There are always going to be problems and we all have to do our best to protect what is valuable from natural events and also from people who want to cause us and our homes damage. Protecting you property is just a matter of arranging a homeowners insurance policy with an insurance company which in return for your regular contribution, they will pay out an agreed amount of money should a claim be made.

Typical situations covered by most house insurance policies are damage to the property, possessions, theft of items, acts of vandalism and of course, fire. There is normally a limit on how much will be paid out which would cover the average home but there will almost always be a deductible to include in the calculations as well.

I wish I could have seen more of these hearings. It was good to hear AG Hood stand up to argue for the policy-holders of MS. He makes such an important point when he talks about the flood pool, which uses tax dollars to pay people when their insurance companies do not. In 2005, the insurance industry made a record 44.8 BILLION dollar profit, while denying valid claims. Thank you, AG Hood, for making our voices heard through you, and for keeping this discussion alive.

If you have a claim on your car….then sell the car after it's been repaired….do you get a clean slate?

    No.

The claim will remain on your CLUE report.

When you go to apply for a new policy with a different company and it asks if you have had prior claims…you still have to list the claim on the new policy application.

Good information. I’ve mentioned this in Chapter 5 of my book “How to Save Big Money on Car Rentals; Uncovering the Secrets They Don’t Want You To Know”. Giving your agent a call, reviewing your policy and having the ability to contact The Insurance Center is great advice. And to help people to protect themselves BEFORE they get in their rental cars and BEFORE they leave the lot, go to MyRentalCarSecrets(dot)com…FREEBIES tab and download my gift just for visiting the site. Great stuff guys!

The better question is why would you want to become a claims adjuster.

    PROS –
    -never boring.
-decent to great benefits and salary after 3 or more yrs experience.
-Outside/field adjusters have a little more freedom than their counterparts who are stuck back at the cubicle farm.
-You have an opportunity to help people when they need it most, especially on legit house fires.

    CONS -
-Deal with a lot of angry people.
-Make people even angrier by denying claims or not paying them what they THINK they deserve.
-Managers who don't remember what it is like to be a claims adjuster.
-Have to deal with scumbag lawyers making BS injury claims for their scumbag clients.
-More files than 2 or 3 people could reasonably handle.
    -fraudulent files.

Some insurance companies hire people without any experience so they can train you how they want. However, that requires starting at the bottom and working your way up.

Other common ways to get into a claims job is to have experience as a cop, house builder or body shop technician. Having experience in one of these areas can get you started at a salary above the base starting salary.

    Good Luck

if it cost you $600 and you have a $500 deductible at most you will save $100 your insurance cost WILL increase, it's not worth it.
